CAL DOCTOR - MODERNIST HOUSE

Cal Doctor is, without a doubt, one of the most special projects we have undertaken. Located in an emblematic modernist building, this main house was in a state of near-total ruin when we first discovered it. Rather than seeing a problem, we saw a unique opportunity: to recover an architectural piece of extraordinary value and restore its full dignity.

The intervention, carried out in 2022, was both deep and ambitious. The façade was restored, respecting the building’s original language, and the carpentry was carefully rehabilitated—especially on the upper floor, where the singular ogival shapes, rare in their beauty, have become one of the home’s defining features.

The upper floor was completely rebuilt, allowing us to redefine the spaces with a contemporary approach while preserving the original spirit. On the ground floor, we chose to unify the different areas into a large, open, and light-filled space, designed for a more fluid and modern way of living.

One of the project’s most powerful gestures was exposing the roof beams, which bring rhythm, warmth, and a strong architectural presence. This constant dialogue between restored elements and new interventions is what gives the project its depth and authenticity.

The result is a home with exceptional aesthetic strength, where every corner conveys character and history. Cal Doctor is not just a renovation—it is proof that, with the right vision and criteria, even the most deteriorated spaces can be reborn with extraordinary personality.
