CAN PUIGVÍ - VILLAGE HOUSE

Welcome to Can Puigví, a village house located in the heart of Breda that we had the privilege of transforming with a particularly sensitive approach to its past. From the very beginning, the project was guided by a clear idea: to recover and highlight the original elements that time had gradually concealed.

The full renovation allowed us to reorganize the spaces to suit a contemporary way of living, without losing the essence of the house. On the ground floor, an open-plan layout was created, bringing together the kitchen, dining area, and living room—enhancing light, spaciousness, and a more natural connection between everyday functions. A new interior bathroom was also added, replacing the former one that had been located in the patio.

On the upper floor, a second bathroom was introduced to serve the night area, significantly improving the home’s functionality. The house now offers four bedrooms, designed to accommodate a large family or provide flexible, multi-purpose spaces.

One of the most distinctive aspects of the project was the recovery of original materials: stone and brick walls were exposed, existing beams were preserved, and the ceiling was renovated to reinforce a sense of warmth and authenticity. The result is a balance between traditional character and contemporary comfort.

The patio, intimate and welcoming, completes the home and becomes an ideal space to enjoy the outdoors in a calm and relaxed setting.

Ultimately, Can Puigví is a house with soul—where every detail tells a story, and where the renovation was not about transforming, but about revealing what was already there.
